Hold on tight\u2014here\u2019s the short version: YouTube is going to roll out AI to detect&#8230; AI! YouTube\u2019s goal is to protect artists. Here are the details:   <\/p>\n<h2>Artificial intelligence: YouTube takes action<\/h2>\n<p>With the rise of artificial intelligence, we\u2019ve seen many songs and films created with AI. Songs or films with no respect for copyright whatsoever. <\/p>\n<p>In France, we\u2019re thinking in particular of \u201cnew\u201d songs by artists made with AI, which bring back or plagiarize the voices of singers or rappers like Booba. At Yiaho, we had also created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yiaho.com\/?page_id=553\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Booba\u2019s AI<\/a>, but only for text! <\/p>\n<p>We also see the phenomenon of \u201cAI clones,\u201d where people sing and then add a filter inspired by any artist to imitate a celebrity\u2019s voice. In response, YouTube wants to develop protections. <\/p>\n<p>Here are the goals of the American platform:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Protect artists<\/strong>: With the growing power of AI technologies, generated content that may include artists\u2019 images or voices without their consent is becoming increasingly common. By developing these tools, YouTube wants to ensure artists can control how their image is used, preventing any abusive or unauthorized exploitation. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Address ethical concerns<\/strong>: The public and creators are increasingly concerned about the ethical implications of using AI in content creation. YouTube wants to show they take these concerns seriously by setting high standards of accountability and ethics in AI, which can strengthen users\u2019 trust in the platform. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Strengthen the relationship with creators<\/strong>: By creating tools that protect artists\u2019 rights, YouTube hopes to reinforce its position as a leading platform for content creators. This could attract more artists and creators to the platform by offering an environment where they feel safe and respected. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Adapt to an evolving digital landscape<\/strong>: With technological innovation accelerating, YouTube must make sure it keeps pace with these changes. By working with CAA, an agency committed to protecting artists\u2019 rights, YouTube aims to shape tools that meet market needs while laying the groundwork for future challenges. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To better understand this phenomenon, here\u2019s an example with fake Michael Jackson covers. These public figures will be able to access tools that help them spot AI-generated content using their image and face. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Simplified takedown request process<\/strong>: In addition to identifying this AI content, the platform will provide a direct and effective way for creators to request the removal of content deemed inappropriate or unauthorized.
