During his evaluation of OpenAI’s text generator, Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister of the Economy, was amazed by ChatGPT’s performance. However, this demonstration also highlighted many questions regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce and the resulting ethical issues. <\/p>\n

Bruno Le Maire tests ChatGPT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bruno Le Maire was stunned by the speed and quality of the text produced by the machine in just five minutes\u2014a task that would have previously taken several hours of work.<\/p>\n

But the minister is well aware of the ethical issues inherent in using artificial intelligence, such as the traceability of data sources, fair compensation for the articles and researchers used by the machines, and transparency in indicating information sources.<\/p>\n

Should AI be regulated?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bruno Le Maire aims to regulate this new technology to reduce the risk of abuse, such as the creation of photorealistic montages to spread discriminatory remarks. However, the minister does not intend to block the application, unlike Italy, but rather to promote a discussion on the best possible regulation for ChatGPT. <\/p>\n

The minister stressed the importance of stimulating the development of companies and research in this field in France, highlighting the progress of CNRS researchers as well as the country’s startups, like Yiaho?
