According to a study, humans now write like… ChatGPT!

A study by the Max Planck Institute for Human Development reveals a troubling phenomenon: academics and education professionals are unknowingly adopting the vocabulary of chatbots like ChatGPT.

The results show a 50% increase in typical AI terms in their writings and speeches. Even educational videos, though written by humans, are imbued with this style: their authors unconsciously draw from AI lexicon, with words like “furthermore,” “optimize,” or “paradigm.”

ChatGPT’s Writing: A Natural Absorption?

This is not so surprising. Humans absorb language from their environment, whether it comes from books, social media, or… AI-generated texts. By constantly reading content produced by ChatGPT from OpenAI, Yiaho, Grok, or Gemini, our way of writing and speaking adapts.

But how far will this influence go? In a world dominated by AI, could our language become a mirror of chatbots?

AI & Humans: Towards a Hybrid Future?

If AI continues to shape our content, articles, reports, and videos, our language is likely to evolve further. AI styles, whether polite like ChatGPT or direct like Grok, could become standards. But is this a loss or an adaptation?

Language has always evolved with its era, from medieval manuscripts to social media abbreviations. Why shouldn’t AI leave its mark?

An irony… detectable!

The irony is this: if humans write like AI, AI detectors could lose their effectiveness. A text written by a student could be confused with one from a chatbot, rendering these tools obsolete. This paradox is as amusing as it is thought-provoking: is human authenticity merging with the artificial?

This phenomenon prompts us to reflect. Should we preserve a “purely human” language or accept this fusion with AI? One thing is certain: our words are evolving, and AI plays a role in it. The next time you write a text, look for a trace of Yiaho, ChatGPT… or Grok. You might be surprised.
