The American company Anthropic, specializing in artificial intelligence, is accelerating its development on the European continent.
Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers, the company has announced the opening of new offices in Paris and also in Munich, Germany. This new presence aims to consolidate its relationships with European public and private stakeholders, while meeting a growing demand for its AI solutions.
Anthropic is performing well
On the financial front, Anthropic is showing remarkable progress in Europe: its annual revenue there has increased more than ninefold in one year, while the number of major corporate clients has grown by a factor of more than 10.
In total, the company now claims 300,000 business customers worldwide. This performance contributed to a record valuation of $183 billion, reached after a $13 billion funding round.

Claude AI is gaining ground
At the heart of this expansion is Claude, the artificial intelligence model developed by Anthropic.
Designed to be safe, helpful, and aligned with ethical principles, Claude is already being adopted by many organizations for various tasks, ranging from data analysis to content generation.
By choosing Paris and Munich, Anthropic is betting on two dynamic technological ecosystems. The French capital, a major hub for startups and European institutions, offers privileged access to policymakers and large corporations. Munich, for its part, benefits from a high concentration of automotive and manufacturing industries, sectors that are particularly keen on AI applications.
This move is part of a broader context of increased competition between American AI giants and European initiatives, such as the AI Act. By moving geographically closer to its customers and partners, Anthropic intends to adapt its offerings to the regulatory and cultural specificities of the Old Continent.
With these new offices, Anthropic is taking an important step in its international strategy, confirming its ambition to become a key player in artificial intelligence in Europe.
