The European Parliament has adopted the definition of artificial intelligence proposed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as part of the Artificial Intelligence Act. This decision is significant as it will have repercussions for European Union rules regarding AI.

The definitions proposed by the OECD were mostly accepted, and new measures, such as the right to an explanation, were added to the MEPs’ agenda.
