Write your internship report with AI

In France, internships in a professional setting are an integral part of many training paths, whatever your level of study.

From middle school to university, including high school and career-focused post-secondary programs, the internship report remains a mandatory or strongly recommended written exercise.

The different types of internships and their reports

  • Middle school – 9th grade: a 5 to 10-day observation internship (often in December or January). The report (8–15 pages) is graded as part of the DNB continuous assessment.
  • Vocational high school (CAP, vocational baccalaureate): several periods of workplace training (PFMP) throughout the program, sometimes up to 22 weeks. The internship report or “internship booklet” is assessed during the CCF or the final exam.
  • General and technological high school: optional or mandatory internship (e.g., senior-year internship in the STMG track, group internship in a company, etc.).
  • BTS, professional bachelor’s degrees: an internship of at least 8 to 16 weeks. The report is often defended orally before a panel and represents a significant part of the degree validation.
  • University (L2, L3, Master 1, Master 2): mandatory or strongly recommended internship (1 to 6 months). The internship report (20 to 80 pages depending on the level) is generally accompanied by an oral defense.
  • Engineering schools, business schools, health schools (nursing, educators, etc.): worker internship, execution internship, end-of-studies internship… the report can be as long as a thesis.

In all cases, the internship report must follow a specific structure, use a clear and professional style, and show both what was done and the skills acquired.

Why is the internship report such an important exercise?

  • It connects the theory learned in class with real-world practice.
  • It develops writing, analysis, and synthesis skills.
  • It is often a graded assessment with a coefficient (DNB, CCF, midterms, oral defense).
  • It can be reused in a CV, a Parcoursup application file, or during job interviews.

A time-consuming and demanding exercise

Writing a report of several dozen pages (or even more than 100 pages in a master’s program or engineering school) requires:

  • rigorous organization,
  • strict compliance with formatting guidelines (APA standards, font, line spacing, pagination…),
  • an appropriate language level (formal register),
  • the ability to analyze your experience with perspective.

Many students, whatever their level, lack the time or method to produce a quality document.
